College Weeks Highlight Jack Frost/Big Boulder SnoCountry/Pepsi Resort of the Week
Pensylvania's Jack Frost/Big Boulder takes center stage this week at the first SnoCountry/Pepsi Resort of the Week. Founded in 1942 with the building of the Split Rock Club on the shores of Lake Harmony, Big Boulder was the first commercial ski resort in Pennsylvania.
A lot has changed at JFBB since John Guresh, an employee who was instrumental in building Big Boulder Ski Area, perfected the snowmaking machine in 1956 - a machine that resembled a lawn sprinkler that was used to emit crystals that looked and acted like snow. Today, JFBB has 35 trails and 22 lifts serving a 600-foot vertical drop.
Through Jan. 11, college students can ski/ride at Jack Frost for just $33, and Big Boulder for $15. Plus, if you're up for a road trip, the $33 lift tickets are valid across all of the Peak Resorts in the northeast (Hunter Mountain, Mount Snow, Attitash, Wildcat, and Crotched Mountain). Just flash your College ID to get the deal at the ticket window!
