The resort received about 3.3 feet, bringing their upper mountain depth to just over 5 feet. The latest snowfall also benefitted Portillo with about 3.7 feet of snow at the upper levels and Valle Nevado in the Andes Mountains coming in at just over 5 feet.

The new snow appears to ensure Valle Nevado’s conditions during their hosting of the second Swatch Skiers Cup featuring some of the world’s best freeskiers Sept. 1-9. It’s a head-to-head competition between Team America and Team Europe with 16 riders each in both big mountain and backcountry slopestyle. Team America includes Mark Abma, Rory Bushfield and Pep Fujas; Team Europe competitors include Sverre Liliequist, Paddy Graham and Tom Leitner.

Chilean resorts of La Parva and El Colorado are reporting about 2.5 feet of snow.
