Canada To Host Fall Ski Shows: Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary

Skiers and riders look to the fall Canadian ski shows to discover improvements ski areas have made during the off-season, talk with manufacturers’ reps, decide on their ski vacation and getaway plans, get deals on swapped or new equipment, and enjoy live entertainment. They’re coming up quickly in Toronto, Ottawa, and Calgary.

 

Check out the following host sites this October and early November.

 

Oct. 16-19: Toronto Snow Show (formerly the Toronto Ski, Snowboard & Travel Show); International Centre, Hall 5, 6900 Airport Road, Mississauga, ON, Hours: Thurs., 3-10 p.m., Fri., Noon-10 p.m., Sat., 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Sun., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission: Adults $18; Juniors (11-17) and Seniors (65 plus) $10; children (10 and under) free with an adult; Family Pass (2 adults + 2 children) $45.

Features: Buy one, get one free lift ticket with admission; Pro-AM Rail Jam; Burton Riglet Park, a miniature terrain-based snowboard park that utilizes small terrain features; the Canadian Ski Patrol System’s biggest ski and snowboard swap (according to the organization) that helps support Patrol training programs and volunteer first aid services.  Blue Mountain is sponsoring a chance to climb on their new groomer Bison X to see what the machine is all about. Exhibitors will have the latest equipment, deals from resorts across North America.

Oct. 25-26: Ottawa Ski, Snowboard And Travel Show; Ernst & Young Centre, Hall 4, 4899 Uplands Drive at Airport Parkway, Ottawa, ON.  Hours: Sat. and Sun., 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free admission; $7 on site parking. 

Ski and snowboard related travel destinations, equipment, clothing, lifestyle information and related products and services, at-show-only special offers, plus ski/snowboard swap and sale. 

Nov. 1-2: Calgary Snow + Skate Show; Calgary Equi-Plex, Spruce Meadows, 18011 Spruce Meadows Way SW, RR9, LCD8, Calgary, ON. Hours: Sat., 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Sun., 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission: Adults $10; kids 12 and under free when accompanied by paid adult. Save $2 when you pick up your admission pass at any Safeway, or purchase online for $5 (plus $1 service charge).

Features: Snowmobile Swap & Show; mechanical snowboard; beer garden; 4,000-square-foot indoor skate park; ski jam; contests and prizes; free parking.
