It’s appropriately Olympic-themed as the boston.com Ski & Snowboard Expo arrives Nov. 14-17 at the Boston Seaport World Trade Center.
The long-running show is presented by Subaru of America and produced by BEWI Sports.
“We strive for value and make this a marketplace for equipment and vacations,” BEWI’s Bernie Weichsel told SnoCountry.com.
Weichsel is going for the gold with the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia beginning less than four months from now. Appearing at the show are Olympic champions Seth Westcott, Hannah Kearney, Donna Weinbrecht, and Tommy Moe. They will be part of a “Salute To The Winter Olympics” and a U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association send-off.
Fuzz Feddersen, newly named to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame, brings his crowd-pleasing aerial show to the Expo, including Olympian Ryan St. Onge.
“These are the dream athletes,” Weichsel told us. “Maybe by shaking their hands something will rub off on us, although we will never ski or ride like them. It’s nice that every four years we get a chance to get people excited about the Olympics.”
But, every year, at ski shows across the country, the expos serve as a way to get amped for the new season.
