Blackcomb Extends Spring Season Through May 27

Blackcomb

Blackcomb will continue operating for more than a month after Whistler closes April 21. You will be able to ski and ride Blackcomb Mountain in British Columbia until May 27.

“Whistler Blackcomb is lucky to boast one of the longest ski seasons in North America said Vice President Stuart Rempel. “Whether it is skiing freshly groomed corn snow, or enjoying an apres ski beverage while listening to live music on the patio of Merlin’s, we want to make sure guests have the best possible spring experience.”

Resort officials offered a few “tips and tricks” to make the best of spring at Blackcomb:

Follow the sun and check grooming boards before deciding where to ski and ride as conditions change throughout the day. Blackcomb will be open at 10 a.m. every day. Plan where to meet for après ski. Merlin’s at the base of Blackcomb and the Horstman Hut overlooks the glacier.

Lift tickets for Blackcomb are $65 at the ticket window after April 21. A spring SPF pass is unlimited and costs $229 through the end of the season.

Whistler Blackcomb has just announced the addition of two new chairlifts for the 2013-14 season. See SnoCountry.com story. http://www.snocountry.com/snonews/ski-resort-news/snonews-featured-stories/entry/two-new-lifts-planned-at-whistlerblackcomb-for-next-season-
