Birdies, Beers ‘N Brats Coming To Crystal Mountain May 26
Springtime in northern Michigan is wildflower season and what better way to celebrate the season than a trip to Crystal Mountain's seventh annual Michigan Beer & Brat Festival. It takes place Saturday, May 26.
The event includes over 50 of the state's finest microbrews to sample, specialty brats with a range of flavors, and live entertainment. You must be at least 21 to attend. Crystal is offering festival lodging packages from $99 per adult, per night based on double occupancy, which includes breakfast, admission to the festival and 10 beer and brat tickets.
You can add unlimited golf with the Birdies, Beers & Brats Package, which is available from $149 per adult, per night based on double occupancy. The package includes the festival and allows you to play the resort's two top-notch courses, Mountain Ridge and Betsie Valley.
Crystal's new alpine slide and the Park at Water's Edge will be open that weekend as well, and the Golf Practice Center will be hosting a free golf demo day May 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can test drive clubs from Callaway, Titleist, Cobra and Taylor Made among others. The day also includes free clinics, games, food and prizes. The resort is adding lift-served mountain biking this summer and opening a couple of new downhill mountain bike trails. You can also access the many miles of cross country mountain bike trails Crystal offers.
It's a great time of year to visit the region. Wildflowers and trillium will be in bloom, and it's a perfect time to take a stroll through the 30-acre Michigan Legacy Art Park. It's located in a pristine forest where a two-mile trail system winds by more than 40 sculptures depicting Michigan's great outdoors. It's beautiful in the spring, and if you're real lucky you might find a morel mushroom; a much sought after woodland fungi this time of year. Michigan's known for its bumper crop of spring morels. If not, at least maybe you can find a birdie on the golf course.
