The Big Sky eighth annual Big Grass Concert, Feb 4-7, includes some of the top blue grass acts in the country; The Sam Bush Band, David Grishman Bluegrass Experience, Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn, Travelin’ McCoury's, Keller Williams, Drew Emmitt Band, Billy Strings and Don Julian, Two Bit Franks, Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen, The Good Time Travelers, and more. A weekend concert pass is $185, which gets you into all shows. Single show tickets are $35 each early bird and $50 at the door. Plan ahead.
Big Sky offers 4th Night Free packages all winter long. Enjoy a fourth night free in the Huntley Lodge, Shoshone, Summit at Big Sky, and the Village Center. Some blackout dates occur from Feb. 12-19, and March 5-12. Kids 10 and under stay and ski free when you book with Big Sky Central Reservations, and a complimentary breakfast is included with ski and stay packages.
The West Yellowstone, Gallatin National Forest area of southern Montana, which includes Big Sky Resort, offers plenty of winter adventures to choose from. Big Sky, which is just 45 minutes from the western entrance to Yellowstone National Park, is a great location with lots of lift and lodging packages, snowmobile tours and transportation to the park.
National Park snowcoach tours will take you to Old Faithful, bison viewing and more. It makes a great combination for a winter getaway. It’s also a good time to visit West Yellowstone, which is often packed with bumper to bumper traffic. You will also see more animal activity in the winter, because they come down to the lower elevations for the winter.
Big Sky is one of the largest ski resorts in the USA. Including acquisitions Moonlight Basin and Spanish Peaks there is 5,750 skiable acres and 4,350 feet of vertical drop. At 11,166 feet it's easy to see Lone Peak's appeal to every age and level of skier and boarder. There are runs up to six miles long and glades and bowls are covered in 400+ inches of annual snowfall.
