Big Savings On New Gear At Annual Butternut Sale; Starts Sept. 28

Butternut Ski Shop saleIf you live anywhere within range, make plans to get in on the early days of the annual Butternut Fall Sale starting up Sept. 28. The sale, run by the Butternut Ski and Snowboard Shop, will overflow the entire Lower Lodge and runs until Nov. 4.

Brand new items for the 2012-13 season will be sold at 15 percent off the suggested manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (MRSP), with bigger discounts on packages. New, unsold items from last season are marked down by 40 percent, with last year’s demo skis priced at 60 percent below their new MRSPs. There’s a bargain section with markdowns as high as 70 percent.

Look for ski brands Atomic, Rossignol, Solomon, and Volkl; snowbaords from Burton, Gnu, Lib Tech, and Smokin’ Snowboards’ boots from Dalbello (skiers) and ThirtyTwo (boarders). There will be a large selection of ski poles.

Plenty of winter apparel and accessories will be on sale, including socks, long underwear, gloves and mittens, hats, goggles, sunglasses, helmets, bags and packs.

“We’re really gearing up for winter,” says Penny Spoja, hardgoods buyer and certified boot-fitter, “bringing in the latest equipment from several manufacturers, so we can help just about anyone find the perfect skis, board, or boots for their budget and ability level.”

The sale will run through Nov. 4 and is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The sale is closed Thursdays. Butternut is located three miles from Great Barrington, Mass.
