Labor Day weekend (Sept. 4 -7) means one very important thing to skiers and snowboarders: sales. There will be a number of mountain and city ski and sports shops hosting sales on equipment, clothing, and accessories.
The staff at Colorado Ski & Golf offer up some tips to maximize your shopping: do your homework, keeping in mind your needs and ability; have a plan as to what equipment or clothing/accessories you want to purchase and go there first for best selection and price; and ask for help from on site reps or staff.
Some more: shop later in the day when crowds are lighter and staff has more time to answer questions; try it before you buy it to guarantee fit; focus on fit when purchasing boots – bring a pair of ski socks to get real fit - not color or style; and, in general, keep an eye out for things on your list and other discounted items to replace or upgrade your current items.
