BEWI Award Marks Importance Of Sales Force To Skiing’s Success

The 2016 BEWI Award was presented to two top sales executives from New England mountain resorts, Betsy McKeever, Group Sales Manager at Vermont’s Okemo Mountain, and Andrew Noyes, newly appointed VP of Operations and formerly Director of Sales & Revenue at New Hampshire’s Loon Mountain.
BEWI Productions President Bernie Weichsel noted that “each exemplifies the invaluable support provide by sales and marketing professionals from resorts throughout the Northeast to the annual Boston.com Ski & Snowboard Expo, and to the entire snowsports community.”
He praised Andrew and Betsy’s professionalism, dedication and their “passion for the lifestyle that is snowsports.”
The BEWI Award presentation was held Fri., Nov. 11, at a luncheon at the Seaport World Trade Center attended by over 150 ski industry executives at the 35th Boston.com Ski & Snowboard Expo.
Betsy McKeever has been Okemo Mountain Resort’s Group Sales Manager since 2007.
Upon receiving the award, Betsy said, “It has been my total pleasure to be a cog in this industry for so long. I’ve never thought of myself as a typical aggressive sales person. More I’m in to relationships.”
Her first ski industry job was a secretarial role in in Killington’s marketing and sales department in 1979, which evolved into a key role in group sales and has been a familiar and effective sales force ever since. Some of her clients go back 30 years, testimony to Betsy’s sales savvy and professionalism.
Betsy made the move to Okemo nearly ten years ago and now has her sights set on retirement.
“This is a great award because most of the awards in the ski industry go to the top people, the general mangers, the great skiers, the owners, etc. and Betsy is indicative of the thousands of the people in the industry that work hard all their lives for the betterment of the industry bringing in new skiers in to the business,” said Okemo President Tim Mueller.
Andrew Noyes was recently promoted to VP of Operation at Loon Mountain where he had served as Director of Sales and Revenue. He has a long history in sales in the ski and travel industry. From 1984-1992, Andrew was sales director for Loon’s Mountain Club hotel, and after stint in sales for Marriott, he returned to Loon as sales manager in 1996.
“I’d like to thank my wife, Betsy, and I’d like to thank my second family, Loon, it’s my second home. My last sales pitch is, I work for the best ski company in the country and the best ski resort, period, ”Noyes said upon receiving the award.
His colleagues at Loon proudly state, “Andrew is an awesome team member, always willing to pitch in, extremely professional, and he has a true passion for the sport and the ski business.
