2014 Olympics: U.S. Men Sweep Skiing Slopestyle; Kaitlyn Farrington Wins Halfpipe Gold
ROSA KHUTOR, Russia (Feb. 13) – It was a U.S. podium sweep at the historic debut of men’s slopestyle skiing in the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games Thursday, when Joss Christensen (Park City, UT) took the sport’s first-ever gold medal with Gus Kenworthy (Telluride, CO) and Nick Goepper (Lawrenceburg, IN) earning silver and bronze.
Wednesday night, USA’s Kaitlyn Farrington (Sun Valley, ID) earned the halfpipe snowboarding gold medal while teammate Kelly Clark (West Dover, VT) took bronze. Clark has now medaled in the last three out of four Olympic Winter Games and has collected more Olympic medals than any other snowboarder in history.
