New Hampshire’s Loon Mountain Resort is now boasting the highest disc golf course in New Hampshire, a scenic 18-hole course that starts at the 2,733-foot summit of Loon Peak.
The new Loon Peak Disc Golf course is an alpine-style course located deep in the White Mountain National Forest. Take in breathtaking views of New Hampshire’s highest peaks as you follow the mostly-downhill course to the mountain’s base.
You’ll find straight, wide-open fairways and challenging dogleg holes that can be enjoyed by beginners and advanced players alike.
To reach the first hole, players will ride New Hampshire’s longest scenic Gondola Skyride to the summit of Loon Peak. From there, signs guide players to the start of the course at the top of the Exodus trail. The course will be open to anyone with a valid Gondola Skyride ticket or season pass, and guests are allowed to play multiple rounds per day.
Loon Mountain Sports will offer disc rentals for $10. Players who have a 2018 Fall & Summer Season Pass will receive a 10 percent discount on disc rentals.
Elsewhere in the Granite State, Mount Sunapee’s 18-hole course winds its way in and out of the woods as it follows Province Trail down from the top of South Peak.
Granite Gorge Disc Golf operates as a pay-to-play course with 9 holes. Just pay $5 at the kiosk for unlimited play.
Bretton Woods boasts family-friendly outings with a beginner 9-hole course in front of the Base Lodge, an advanced 9-hole course in Fabyan Fields and a Fairy Garden for the littlest disc golfers.
The original Snow's Mountain ski trails of Waterville Valley have been transformed into a 18-hole course that begins with a chairlift ride to the summit, then play your way down the mountain while taking in views of the town below and surrounding peaks.
Wildcat's 18 holes start after a short ride on the Snowcat chairlift and walk past the ZipRider start deck. Players progress down designated fairways that may be more recognizable during the winter skiing and riding season as Cheetah, Snowcat Slope and Wild Kitten trails.
