Vermont's Killington Resort Kicks Off The Season This Weekend
Get ready to ski and ride in the Northeast! Killington Resort, the largest ski area in the region, opens for the 2013-14 ski and snowboard season this weekend.
Killington will open for season pass and Express Card holders for an exclusive day of early season skiing and riding Friday, opening to the general public for skiing and riding Saturday and Sunday. The K-1 Express Gondola will provide uploading and downloading, and skiers and riders will use the Peak Walkway to access Rime, returning to the K-1 Express Gondola via a short walk on the Peak Walkway. Lift Hours will be 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and lift tickets will be $49.
Killington fired up snowmaking operations Tuesday and based upon the current weather forecast, will see a few natural snow flakes along with below freezing temperatures over the next fews days for continued snowmaking operations.
Skiers and snowboarders will experience early season conditions on advanced terrain only on Rime trail, providing roughly 600 vertical feet of terrain. Snowmaking may be in progress throughout the day.
