Todays Inside Scoop
February Festival: It's February Festival time! Join us for the yearly celebration, kicked off with the torchlight parade and fireworks around 7pm. Then it's on to the base lodge for live music, good eats and the silent auction. Proceeds to benefit the Bromley Outing Club.
Valentine's Day Selfie Contest: Calling all twosomes to reach into their bag o' photo tricks and produce the best couples selfie shots on your Sun Mountain. Take a selfie of you and your honey skiing at Bromley via Instagram on 2/14/15, tag it #mysunmountain, and be entered into a contest for two free lift tickets!
Kare's 31st Annual Tele Fest: Come rip with some of the best tele skiers in the East at the KÃ¥re Andersen Telemark Festival! Have fun with great tele events, the annual Race, clinics and fun for the entire family. Learn what tele-skiing is all about!
Bart Center's Limitless Luau: Come and join the Bart Center at Bromley to see how snow sports can impact someone’s life. The day will feature the ability to ski with an adaptive lesson, a themed lunch, scavenger hunt and other activities. More details TBD. Look for us on Bromley’s sun deck!
Women's Weekend! Mar 5th through Mar 6th: Looking to get away with just the girls, and learn a little bit, too? Our Ski & Snowboard School is pleased to offer a women-only weekend this March 5-6. The weekend includes on snow clinics (ski, snowboard or telemark) both days, morning coffee buffet, lunch with your instructor, and aprés gatherings. Depending on interest, movement analysis will be offered as well. Weekend package is only $399. Full weekend details coming soon.
Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge: Did somebody say “Dual Giant Slalom You bet your Dew they did! Come out and watch or get in on the action yourself; this is your last chance to qualify for the national championships. Click here for more information. New! Save time on race day and register online. (Please note, if under the age of 18, we still need a parent to sign a sheet at Registration when you pick up your bib number!)
Spring Fling: A Bromley family’s favorite sun-soaked (or just plain soaked) event is back for another year! Featuring pond skimming, a duct tape derby, live music and even some rides from our summer adventure park! Registration for pond skimming and the duct tape derby will begin at 9am at the info desk in the base lodge.
5th Annual Bromley Rando Race: Rando – short for randonnée – ski racing hearkens back to skiing’s early years, when skiers challenged the mountain both up and down, without the help of chairlifts. Using climbing “skins†with alpine touring or telemark bindings (or even “split†snowboards), racers start at the base of the mountain, ascend it, then descend it (on marked in-bounds ski area trails), as fast as possible, over multiple laps, up to 5,000' cumulative vertical, in the truest test of the most complete skier overall. For course layout details and updates, follow them on Facebook, or check out the New England Rando Race Series Blog!
Easter Egg Hunt! Everyone knows the Easter Bunny loves snow. We heard he plans to stop at the Sun Mountain on Sunday, March 27, hiding a very special golden egg somewhere on the mountain. In that golden egg will be a certificate for a Teen or Junior 2015/16 Winter Season Pass! Hunt for the golden egg begins at 8:30am - find the egg and bring it up to the Admin offices to claim your prize! Ages 17 and under only. And not to leave our youngest guests out, the big bunny will coordinate a hunt with the Kids Center, too! Beginning at 11am, we'll have a traditional egg hunt for 3 age groups: Ages 4 and under will be outside the Kids Center, Ages 5 to 10 will hunt on the far side of the covered carpet (or skiers left) of the Learning Zone, and Ages 11 and up will search for treasure on the near side of the covered carpet.
