Stein EriksenOlympic ski legend and Deer Valley’s iconic ambassador Stein Eriksen has died. The Norwegian champion known for his impressive coif, impeccable ski technique and eponymous lodge passed away quietly at his Park City home Sunday, December 27, 2015, surrounded by family. He was 88 years old.

Legendary Skier Stein Eriksen Passes Away

Stein ErikenStein Eriksen, the legendary alpine skier whose revolutionary technique and distinctive style made him a founder of modern skiing, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at his home in Park City, Utah surrounded by family.  He was 88 years old.

Snowboard Big Air, Alpine Team Event Added to 2018 Olympics; U.S. World Cup Stops Set

Big Air in KoreaBig air snowboarding and an alpine team event were approved the International Olympic Committee (IOC) this week as new event inclusions for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association had been among nations lobbying for inclusion of big air. U.S. World Cup stops were released by the F.I.S. as well.
