Several Heartland Female Ski Clinics Taking Place

Over the next few weeks seven Midwest ski areas are hosting women’s ski and snowboard clinics. Two ski areas are located in Indiana, and one each in Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin.

Indiana’s Paoli Peaks is up first is hosting a two-day ski and snowboard clinic on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 6-7 for women 18 and older. The cost is $139, which includes a lift ticket. They are also hosting a one-day clinic on Saturday Jan. 27. Rentals, if you don’t have equipment, are $30 per day.

Perfect North Slopes is hosting women’s beginner ski and snowboard clinics Friday, Jan. 20, and Sunday, Jan. 22. Starting with the basics the two-hour clinics are taught by female instructors in small, supportive classes. Following in February they are hosting women’s intermediate to advanced clinics, Saturday, Feb. 3 and Sunday, Feb. 5. The cost is $45 for each clinic.  

Missouri’s Hidden Valley is hosting Women’s Wednesdays, a three-week ski or snowboard program for women only. The clinics are being offered twice each Wednesday at 2 and 7 p.m., January 10, 17 and 24. Advance registration required and the cost is $195 for all three clinics. Lift and rental is included.

Ohio’s Mad River Mountain host’s Snow Angles every Sunday through Feb. 25 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Taught by female instructors the sessions are for all ski and ride ability levels. It’s $20 per session.

Wisconsin’s Wilmot Mountain is hosting Ski Girls Rock, a Lindsey Vonn designed program for Vail Resorts, Feb. 17-18 and 24-25. The program is for girls ages seven through teens, intermediate skiers and up. The program runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., and the cost is $210 for non-pass holder and $170 for pass holders.

Mt. Brighton, near Detroit, is hosting Ski Girls Rock, Jan. 6-7. The program runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., and the cost is $190 for non-pass holder and $150 for pass holders.

Afton Alps, the Twin Cities, is hosting Ski Girls Rock, March 3-4. The cost of the two day camp is $195 and does not include lift tickets.
