HVRC Intro to Alpine Racing Clinic - Hidden Valley Race Club is offering a 2-day Introduction to Alpine Racing Clinic that includes 6 hours of race-related training for 8 - 16 year old alpine skiers who want to see if alpine racing might be for them! Skiers will participate in structured drills and instruction, get skill-appropriate experience running gates on a GS course, get an opportunity to talk to HVRC skiers about racing and have fun! Schedule: Feb. 11, 2012 - Clinic 10 a.m. - Noon, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. Feb. 12, 2012 - Clinic 10 a.m. - Noon; Open Cup Race 1 - 3 p.m.; Awards after the Open Cup Race 3:30 p.m. Cost - $140. Pre-registration required at Hidden Valley Ski and Board School. Cash or check only; non-refundable. Racers will be supervised on the hill but must be responsible for themselves, must be 8 - 16 years of age, have the ability to ride lifts unassisted, ski all Hidden Valley Resort terrain under control and stop on command. Lift ticket (not included in clinic fee) is required.

HVRC Open Cup Race -- The Hidden Valley Race Club sponsors several races throughout the ski season for all levels and ages of skiers and courses are set up with fun and family in mind! Timed races with medals awarded by age group are presented after each race. Each race consists of two timed runs. Race any day or all season in World Cup-style competition! Advanced registration is required outside of the Wintersports U office on the Plaza, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on race days. Races begin at 1 p.m. $7 for one run; $10 for one day (two runs); $50 for all seven races (14 runs). Entries must be paid in full at time of registration and are non-refundable. A signed waiver is also required.
