Long a southern Berkshire favorite, Mohawk Mountain can boast of an impressive pedigree. Skiing visionary Walt Schoenknecht created it, and in 1949 he fired up a rudimentary snowmaking system on its slopes for the first time. The rest, as they say, is history.
